BREAKING: SUSPECT OF JOANNA DEMAFELIS IS NOW IN CUSTODY
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said a principal suspect in the murder of overseas Filipino worker Joanna Demafelis is now in the custody of Lebanese authorities.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano said in a Friday statement that he has informed President Rodrigo Duterte about the arrest of Nader Essam Assaf, a Lebanese national. Assaf and his Syrian wife Mona are the suspects in the death of 29-year-old Demafelis, whose body was found inside a freezer in an apartment in Kuwait, where it may have been kept for over a year.
WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW: Authorities said Demafelis had torture marks on her body and there were indications she was strangled to death.
